Quick guides to get you up and running.

Getting Started

  1. Download Paper Bag from the App Store or Google Play
  2. Sign up with your email (magic link, no password needed)
  3. Create a household
  4. Invite your partner or roommate with a share link
  5. Start adding items to your shared list

Adding & Managing Items

Adding items: Tap the input at the bottom of the list and type an item name. Hit enter and it's added instantly. Items are auto-categorized into sections like produce, dairy, and pantry.

Checking off items: Tap an item to mark it as done. Checked items move to a completed section at the bottom.

Editing or deleting: Swipe an item to reveal edit and delete options.

Suggestions: As you type, Paper Bag suggests items from your history so you can add them with a single tap.

Sharing & Households

Inviting someone: Go to Settings and tap "Invite." Share the link with your partner or roommate.

Real-time sync: Any item added or checked off appears on all household members' devices instantly.

Offline use: Paper Bag works without a connection. Changes sync automatically when you reconnect.

Account

Signing in: Paper Bag uses magic link authentication. Enter your email and tap the link sent to your inbox. No password required.

Deleting your account: Go to Settings or contact us and we'll handle it promptly.
