Giddy Up is operated by Chain Labs, LLC ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

What We Collect

When you use Giddy Up, we collect the following information:

• Your email address (for account creation and login via magic code)
• Display name and profile handle you choose
• Step count data from your device's health APIs
• Game participation, competition results, and leaderboard data
• Device information (device type, operating system, app version)
• Usage data and in-app interactions (see Analytics & Session Replay below)

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used to power the core Giddy Up experience: tracking your steps, updating leaderboards, and enabling competitions with other players. We also use usage data to improve the app experience, fix bugs, and understand how features are used. We do not sell your data to third parties.

Health Data

Giddy Up reads step count data from Apple HealthKit (iOS) or Google Fit (Android). We only access step count data and do not read, collect, or store any other health information. Step data is used solely to power in-app competitions and leaderboards. We do not sell or share health data with third parties, and health data is not used for advertising or marketing purposes.

Analytics & Session Replay

We use PostHog for product analytics and session replay. This helps us understand how the app is used and identify issues. PostHog collects:

• In-app events and feature usage
• Device type, operating system, and app version
• Session replays — recordings of your screen interactions within the app to help us diagnose bugs and improve the user experience. Text fields are masked by default.

PostHog data is hosted in the United States. You can learn more about PostHog's privacy practices at posthog.com/privacy.

Our website (joingiddy.com) uses Fathom Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies or collect personal data. Learn more at usefathom.com/privacy.

Third-Party Services

In addition to the services described above, Giddy Up relies on the following third-party services to operate:

• InstantDB — real-time database for storing your profile, game data, and step entries
• Apple HealthKit / Google Fit — device health APIs for reading step count data
• PostHog — product analytics and session replay (see above)
• Fathom Analytics — privacy-friendly website analytics (website only)

We do not share your personal data with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices. Data is hosted in the United States. We retain your data only as long as your account is active.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Delete your account and all associated data from within the app or by contacting us
• Revoke health data access at any time through your device settings
• Request a copy of your personal data by contacting us

Children's Privacy

Giddy Up is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
